LG Optimus L9 Makes Its Way To India; Offers 4.7” IPS Screen And 1 GHz Processor For Rs 23,000

Android 4.0 smartphone comes with 5mp rear and VGA front snapper; capable of recording full HD videos at 30 fps.


It's been a couple days since we first saw the LG Optimus L9 (P765) on their India website, but yesterday saw the formal launch of this smartphone in India. LG says you can "See More, Do More, Express More" with this phone; we can sure see the 4.7" (11.9 cm) IPS panel with qHD (960x540) resolution. Under the hood, the L9 packs in a 1 GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of RAM, which is more than enough for running Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.4).

Preloaded apps include QuickTranslator for translating foreign words and phrases into English, and QuickMemo, which lets you take notes and share them with friends. Clumsy typers will find it easier to type long messages: The key formation on the screen can be adjusted depending on whether the user is typing with one hand or two. In terms of photography, you get a 5-megapixel camera with a CMOS sensor, and a front VGA camera for video chat. An addition to the photographic capabilities is the CheeseShutter option, which automatically takes a shot when subjects say "cheese"! Here are the detailed technical specifications:

The smartphone is available in stores across India at an MRP of Rs 23,000. As of this writing, the phone is up for pre-order at at Flipkart.com for Rs 18,500, in white and black variants.
