OnePlus 5 Gets OxygenOS 4.5.5 Update

The update brings improvements to WiFi connectivity and voice calling along with a couple of bug fixes.

OnePlus recently launched its much awaited smartphone, the OnePlus 5 and now, it looks like the company has rolled out an update to bring-in performance improvements and bug fixes to its best flagship ever.

The OxygenOS update numbered as 4.5.5 has already started to arrive over-the-air with a pop-up notification. However, if you haven’t got any pop-up yet, you can definitely head over to ‘Settings’ and check for the update manually.

The OxygenOS 4.5.5 comes in just a week after the company rolled out Oxygen OS 4.5.3 to its customers. Well, the 4.5.4 update was in between rolled out in Netherlands to fix 4G network issues.

The latest update brings improvements to WiFi connectivity, voice calling, and a couple of bug fixes. Reports claim that, with the latest update, less batter drain while voice recording has been observed. Along with this, it seems that vibration intensity has also been decreased.

Here’s the entire change log:

Optimisations:

  • Further improvements to Wi-Fi connectivity
  • Improvements for voice calling
  • Voice recording now uses less battery
  • Vibration intensity when receiving calls has been decreased

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed Wi-Fi signal consistently being displayed as weak
  • Fixed certain apps not able to work under IPv6 network settings
  • To restore connectivity to a Windows 10 PC, please turn off USB debugging prior to the upgrade

However, the latest update still comes with the May security update, while other devices like Pixel and Nexus are receiving the July security patch. That’s still a pain even after paying over Rs 30,000 for a phone!
