Android O Developer Preview 3 Now Released

The new preview build comes with final Android O APIs, bug fixes, and a couple of optimisations.

Google has finally released the third developer preview build of its upcoming Android O operating system, which is confirmed to be Android 8.0, after keeping the version number under wraps until now. The release was announced by Dave Burke, VP of Engineering, on the official blog post.

To recall, the technology giant had rolled out the first developer preview in March while second roll out was made at the I/O 2017, held last month. Now, the company’s third developer preview comes with final Android O APIs. However, it seems that the company will roll out another developer preview in July which is expected to bring ‘near-final system images’.

This third developer preview also comes with an update to Android Studio to help you get ready for the consumer release later in the summer. Also, it is said to come with hundreds of bug fixes and optimisations.

Speaking about this third developer preview build, the company has said that it would be rolled out to eligible users who have enrolled in to the Android Beta Program, and the compatible devices as mentioned by the company include Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, and Nexus Player.
