PhonePe Now Available On iOS
The company claims it to be the first UPI based payments app on iOS.
In the wake of more and more digital, cashless economy, we already know that Flipkart acquired the UPI-based payment app called PhonePe, started by ex-Flipkart employees Sameer Nigam and Rahul Chari.
The app was only available on Android platform until now, while being powered by Yes Bank. And now, the e-commerce giant has rolled out PhonePe on iOS as well, claiming that it is the first UPI based payments app on iOS, which may not actually be true. ICICI’s iMobile app has been offering the same feature already.
However, PhonePe is now listed on App Store, and like the Android app, it is powered by Yes Bank, under the virtual payment address @ybl, according to Gadgets 360.
To recall, the PhonePe app supports 35 UPI enabled banks including ICICI, for the matter. But, in real, the scenario is somehow not much happening, at least recently. ICICI Bank announced that it would be blocking the @ybl virtual payment address recently, citing security concerns over a statement.
