Sony Launches A99 II Camera With 42.4 MP Sensor In India

The new camera comes with a 4D Focus system with 79 autofocus points, S-Log2 and S-Log3 shooting modes, and 4K video support.

 

Sony has recently announced the launch its new flagship full-frame SLT camera, the A99 II in India, that comes with price tag of INR 2,49,990. To refresh your minds, the camera was earlier announced for the first time back in September during Photokina in Cologne, Germany.

While being a major upgrade to the A99 camera by Sony, the A99 II comes with a 42.4 MP Exmor R full-frame sensor which also features a gapless-on-chip design. Interestingly, comparing the new A99 II with its predecessor, it is nearly eight per cent smaller in size, while featuring improvized grip, magnesium alloy body, and dust and moisture resitance. The camera also features two SD card slots.

Interestingly, the new A99 II by Sony is also the company's first full-frame camera that comes with a 4D Focus system with 79 autofocus points.

The camera also features a new in-body 5 axis image stabilization system which is known to rectifiy the shift blur while shooting close-up shots. The Sony A99 II also supports 4K videos and S-Log2 and S-Log3 shooting modes, while it sports a 3 inch LCD display which can be tilted.
