Google Allo Upgrades To Version 2.0

The new update brings app shortcuts, GIF keyboard, quick replies, incognito key alerts, and support for landscape mode.

Google has recently rolled out a new update to its newly launched chat application Allo. While the application on Android platform upgrades to version 2.0, it brings with it a couple of interesting features.

The new updated app gets splitscreen multitasking along with other features like app shortcuts, GIF keyboard, quick replies, Incognito key alerts, and support for landscape mode.

Speaking about these updated features, the App Shortcuts allows users to add shortcuts of a specific person on to the homescreen and start conversation directly, while Splitscreen Multitasking pretty much explains in itself what it does and Quick Replies allows users to reply directly from the notification window itself.

While the new features have been announced by Justin Uberti, co-lead for Allo project, via his Twitter account, the roll out with the update is expected to reach users in stages. However, as of now, there is no information as to when would a similar update roll out for iOS.

Speaking about Allo, we all know that the app did not receive much attention as was expected by Google. However, with this new update, the Search Engine Giant seems to be looking forward to reach out more users.
