Xiaomi's Mi VR Headset Apes PlayStation VR

The Chinese brand's second VR comes with a motion controller.

Xiaomi isn't new to the virtual reality market. The company has already been selling the Mi VR Play for over a year. In the latest iteration, Xiaomi has dropped Play from its name. Dubbed simply as the Xiaomi Mi VR, the new gadget comes with a motion controller, much like Google's DayDream View VR.

When it comes to design though, the Mi VR takes "inspiration" from Sony's PlayStation headgear. The Mi VR is fully compatible with the Mi 5, Mi 5s, Mi 5s Plus, and the newly announced Mi Note 2. The gadget has a dedicated motion sensor for enhanced control sensitivity. The basics remain the same, as you are required to place your smartphone to power this VR.

The Mi VR comes with Xiaomi’s store that features over 30 apps and 500 videos to enjoy. The Chinese company claims that more than 200 developers have registered to deliver more content in future. The Xiaomi Mi VR is priced at 200 yuan, which is equivalent to Rs 2000. Going b the features, that sounds like a good deal. As of this writing, there's no word on its release outside China.
