Meizu's M3S Smartphone Takes On The Redmi 3S Prime

Offers a metal body and fingerprint sensor on budget.

 

Chinese smartphone brand Meizu has announced its M3S smartphone in India. The 4G LTE handset will only be sold via Snapdeal. The metal-clad budget handset will be available in gold, grey, and silver. The base model with 2 GB RAM is priced at Rs 8000, whereas the 3 GB version will set you back for Rs 9300. The handset competes with the recently reviewed Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime.



The Meizu M3S features a 5-inch HD screen. It is covered by a slightly curved display glass. The phone is powered by MediaTek's MT6750 chipset. The 2 GB RAM variant comes with 16 GB internal storage. You get 32 GB storage with the 3 GB RAM model. You can add another 128 GB of storage via a microSD card slot. However, since it is a hybrid slot, you can either use a secondary SIM or a memory card. In the camera department, you get a 13-megapixel camera. It boasts of quick and automatic phase focusing. Then, there are other options such as long exposure and panorama mode. For video calls, there's a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.



The 4G VoLTE is compatible with Reliance Jio network in India. Other connectivity essentials include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS. The Meizu M3S packs-in a 3020 mAh battery. The phone also boasts of a fingerprint sensor. On the software side of things, you get Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with FlyMe OS 5.1.
