Now Get Vodafone Connection With Aadhar-based e-KYC

This announcement from Vodafone comes after Airtel and Idea rolled out a similar offer.

Vodafone has recently joined the pool of other telecom companies like Airtel and Idea, by announcing the Aadhar-based e-KYC offer. With this new facility, users can now walk in to any Vodafone Store across India with an Aadhar Card and avail a new Vodafone SuperNet connection. This offer is valid for both pre-paid and post-paid connections.

Along with this, Vodafone has also announced a new mobile app that allows users to instantly validate their new mobile connections. The process of instant validation will be rolling out from Sept 2016, as per the company’s announcements, and will be carried out across Vodafone’s retail network in a planned and phased manner.

“We are all set to delight customers with the benefits of the e-KYC led paperless process. Customers walking in for a new connection at our stores will walk out talking in just a few minutes. We had partnered with the Department of Telecom (DoT) to pilot the Aadhar based e-KYC solutions and tested it successfully in two circles," commented Sandeep Kataria, the Director of Commercial at Vodafone India.

He also added, “Effective from Wednesday, August 24, we are rolling it out across the country. The use of e-KYC will drastically cut down on delays in activating new connections because of infrastructure challenges like power cuts, transporting volumes of paper, lack of photocopying and photography facilities. It will also strengthen the verification process as there will be no room for any manual error."

Other than instant connections, Vodafone is also offering some free talktime. Under the aegis of the 'Vodafone Delights bonanza', there will be an additional 10 minutes of free talktime in a month's duration. As reported by the Times of India, Vodafone subscribers need to send an SMS to the number 199 with 'BETTER' written and talktime of 10-minutes will be credited immediately to their accounts. For prepaid users, the 'free minutes' will be valid till midnight of the next day. In case of postpaid customers, they'll be valid till the end of the next billing cycle.
