Pre-orders For Sony Xperia X And Xperia XA Begins

Will Sony’s new revamped Xperia X lineup save the company’s smartphone future?

Sony is all set to bring its new smartphone lineup revealed at MWC-Barcelona to India on 30 May. Pre-orders have already begun to grab this device on launch.

Sony has been losing smartphone market since a long time and to preserve a fighting chance in the mobile business, the Japanese company needs to be present in fast growing markets like India.

The two devices, announced at MWC alongside the beefier Xperia X Performance, do not stay too far from the well-known recipe of the Xperia Z line, despite different branding. Sony’s problem has never been a lack of refinement, so if you are looking for an attractive as well as a polished device, the Xperia X and XA are perfect for you.

Sony Xperia X features a 5-inch Full HD display with Triluminous display. Sony Xperia X boasts a 23MP back snapper while the front camera is a 13MP one. Sony Xperia X is powered by Snapdragon 650 chipset coupled with a fingerprint scanner. It looks sleek with a 7.7mm thin profile and weighing just 152 grams. The smartphone will come in white, black, gold and rose gold color variants.

Sony Xperia XA is a toned down version of Xperia X. The XA is powered by MediaTek Helio P10 processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. The dual SIM smartphone features a 5-inch 720p HD display along with 4G LTE. It comes with 2300mAh battery with Sony’s superior battery-saving technology. Sony Xperia sports a 13MP back snapper and 8MP front shooter. Both smartphones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

For now, Sony has not revealed any pricing but the smartphone might come around a price bracket of Rs 25,000 for Xperia X and Rs 18,000 for Xperia XA.
