Starbucks Rolls Out Emoji Keyboard

Is this a simple fun app, or is the company planning something big? We'll have to wait and watch.

 

Starbucks has now rolled out its very own emoji keyboard app for Android and iOS devices. This keyboard is said to allow Starbucks fans to send emojis of Frappuccinos, coffes, and teas via any messaging app like WhatsApp, WeChat, etc. Interestingly, the app also has an emoji of a purple unicorn drinking a Starbucks beverage.

This new keyboard app by the popular coffee house chain is definitely different than what the company is actually into. However, this app focused on entertainment for Starbucks' fans can also allow for more creativity in the flow.

As of now, the company has the keyboard developed by partnering with Snaps Media, a company that works with a number of brands helping them create their own emojis.

Though a keyboard specifically meant for a company may sound a little bizzare, Starbucks as a brand has a larger reach and thus, this app may turn out to be a cool marketing strategy for the company. However, scanning through the early reviews for the app on the app stores, we can pretty much understand that most of the users have not expressed decent views on the quality of the keyboard.

This may be a start of something big; we never know. Starbucks may take this emoji keyboard a little serious, and boom - visit a Starbucks cafe, send an emoji to a number, and your order is on the table! How innovative! We'll have to wait and watch if this is what the company is looking at, or if the keyboard is really meant just for fun.
