Google To Launch Asus Chromebit In India In Jan 2016

The device is a perfect replacement for the big and bulky Chromebooks.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai has recently announced during the Google For India event that Asus Chromebit will be available for purchase in India in January next year.

With a price tag of Rs 7,999, the Asus Chromebit is said to be powered by a Rockchip RK3288 quad core processor coupled with a 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage.

Interestingly, Google claims the device to be smaller than a candy bar while it performs most of the functions that a PC or a laptop would do.

Asus Chromebit is likely to be more useful for schools and businesses, especially for people who travel a lot, as the device can turn any display unit into a computer by just plugging into it.

While this looks more like Stick PCs by Intel and iBall, the Chromebit runs on Google's Chrome OS and thus is considered to be a perfect replacement for big and bulky Chromebooks.

Adding more on the features of the Asus Chromebit, the device includes an HDMI port which allows users to connect with display units, a USB port used to power and connect external devices like keyboard or a mouse.

Also, the device supports Bluetooth 4.0 and comes in silver, blue and orange color schemes.
