Google's very own web browser in the pipeline

The new browser will be called Google Chrome and Google plans to launch a beta version in over 100 countries on the 2nd of September.

After creating the most popular search engine used by almost everybody today, Google aims to take a stab at the web browser market which is mostly dominated by Firefox and Opera and of course Microsoft's Internet Explorer.

The new browser will be called Google Chrome and even though it's far from done, Google plan to launch a beta version in over 100 countries on the 2nd of September.

The primary reason for this browser according to the developers is to give a lot of value added services to the users and also bring about innovation in the way we surf the internet.

Chrome will be completely open source and just like the Google home page, will sport a clean, uncluttered layout. The most striking feature though has got to be the so called "sandbox" feature which treats each individual tab separately.

What this means is supposing there is some web application of page that crashes or stops responding, instead you having to restart the browser, you'll only have to close the tab instead of the whole browser.

The Beta is not yet out but you can keep a tab on Google's blog page here.
