Firefly MMORPG forsaken for Buffy

Firefly MMORPG that was in development has been delayed considerably by the producers in favor of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer game.

First off, I am more of a Firefly fan so this isn't exactly unbiased. Fans of the underrated Firefly series, (Serenity) would be disappointed to hear the news that the Firefly MMORPG that was in development has been delayed considerably by the producers in favor of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer game.

Granted the latter may have a larger fan following and it might make business sense to make it first, it doesn't do much for the Browncoats among us. You can go here and see their reasoning for it along with more talk to justify the decision.

This sometimes makes me wonder if the people making these games actually like to play them themselves, anyone could tell you Firefly, though more obscure, would have a massive following if they actually make a good game. I actually hadn't even known of the existence of the game or that it was in development but this was one series that was good and cancelled before it's prime, it took sci-fi to places that had never been explored and if you use a bit of cognitive dissonance and get over the overwhelmingly old school western look it has, there's a great story there.

Here's hoping they use the extra time to build something spectacular and not just focus not what they think has a larger market. It may be slowed down but they can't stop the signal!
