i.Tech Clip D-Radio

i.Tech Clip D-Radio

Aniket Kadam, Jun 24, 2008 1339 hrs IST

A Bluetooth headset that doubles up as a radio that works independent of mobile phone. But does the interface measure up?

Radio, Clear sound during calls, Good for music, controls on main body, A2DP, OLED screen.

Poor interface, heavier than expected.

Build & Design

i.Tech has improved on the looks of their headsets with the Clip D-Radio, and its stylish contours are vaguely reminiscent of a sports car, especially due to the mini-spoiler at the back. It has a clear OLED in front, which is used to display a spectrum analyzer for music, select between radio presets and see the radio frequency. It follows the trend of increasing weight in higher-end products of i.Tech. At 21.5 grams it feels heavier than it should be, but it gives a solid feel overall to the device despite the one creaky spot where the microphone is.

The multifunction button has been taken off the earphones and its functions have been transferred to the silver button on the main body of the headset. There are Play/Pause, FM, Forward, Back buttons in a circle around it to control the music. The Forward and Back buttons have raised edges and so are easy to press but FM and Play/Pause lack these and can be annoying to hit unless you're looking at them. The bundle provides both mono earphone as well as stereo earphones. The earphones are comfortable to wear for long duration and securely fit into your ears.

The section at the back houses the audio jack as well as the USB port. The back panel is anchored to the main body by a rubber strap.
