Here's what the new Yahoo messenger will bring along for Vista users

EXPERT REVIEW

Yahoo Messenger has been a popular Instant Messaging client till Google Talk came into existence (it's still a favorite for many). From version to version, it kept improving with respect to its functionality and the user interface. Yahoo had announced its Vista-specific messenger project a long time ago. And now, we finally have the opportunity to get our hands on its preview version.

Design

The Yahoo Messenger Vista Preview version has a completely redesigned interface. Yahoo has made optimum usage of the graphics sub-system of Windows Vista -- the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF). Thus, it harnesses its power to make the new messenger more aesthetically pleasing and eye-catching.

Its presence is evidently noticed - be it through the soft glowing of an element when a mouse hovers over it or the smooth anti-aliased fonts. The user interface is simplified and stream-lined.

People now are thinking in the Right direction.. they no more wanted colourful vista.. they are better comforted with winxp,sp2 itself... similar case yahoo! msgr was best then, but see now the complexity is increased, yahoo mail and msgr sucks and simple Gmail and gtalk is good.. bt gmail2.0 is starting to suck...

looks like u know only one word, sucks!! How can u say the techtree word verification sucks??? Yahoo messenger packs great deal of features that gtalk can only dream now. I guess your opinion, u guessed it, sucks...

I like the new yahoo messenger except it does have a flaw, it keeps going off line and you get an error message. Hopefully the finial version will have the bugs fixed.

I also got the opportunity to test this version, and believe me, according to yahoo it's the beta version but i'll rate it as alpha. There's so much needs to be done. Most of the features are missing in settings options likes alerts and sounds, and message settings. Leave all problems behind, the main problem is it's really really really slow. People who have been using messenger for ages, will use it only once and then will immediately uninstall it. Atleast it's in my case. I'll rate it as the worst development of messenger from yahoo according to the expectations of users. And as Rohan said, let us hope that this preview version gets some real smooth and fast features and working process in the final version.
