The last factory overclocked 9600GT we reviewed failed to live up to our expectations. This time, we've got a factory overclocked sample from XFX. I have a feeling that this thingy will perform a lot better than the ones we've tested so far. Let's see

Well there is a mistake in review. The reviewed card has 256Bit memory interface not 128-Bit. 9600GT came in 256-bit and none of the 9600GT is 128-Bit!

Though it may perform better than other 9600GTs its better to get an 8800GT by spending a couple more grands. 8800gt totally owns the 9600gt

Now that 9600GT Cards with standard clock of 650 MHz. are down to $ 120 ( Rs. 5k) and over clocked 700MHz.versions down to $ 140 ( Rs 5.7k) XFX has absolutely no justification in pricing these cards for us Indians at 200 percent the international price!! Somebody has to protest against this cartel of loot.

"It does make sense to go in for the 9600GT rather than an 8800GT simply because the 9600GT is a newer card, and will have a few more driver updates that can further boost its current performance. And although the 8800GT is a powerful, it won't have as much resale value as the 9600GT a few months down the line. Also, the current crop of 9600GTs with the current drivers almost matches the performance of some of the 8800GTs, which, again, gets me to the driver updates part." B*****it. 8800GT has the raw performance edge along with some serious shader power that 9600GT lacks. At Rs 9,500 GT is fine but at Rs 11,000 it's a complete waste of money. With a couple of hundred Rs more 8800GT can be bought and it will serve longer due the shading power it packs. In future games are going to be even more shader-intensive and then 9600GT will tank.
