Quickly, what's the name that comes to your mind when we talk about a fast hard drive? It is invariably "Raptor". Western Digital has created this species of drives that run at breakneck speeds, spinning at a spindle speed of 10,000 RPM, obliterating completely, anything and everything that came its way. Naturally, these are the choice of enthusiasts.
First there was the 37 GB IDE version, then came the SATA150 74 GB and then the 150 GB. But now, WD has come out with a new 4th generation product in this class. Known as the VelociRaptor, this one boasts of a 300 GB capacity to quench the data thirst of today's consumers.
