In case you're dreaming about streaming your life over the internet, here's something to consider.

Specialized applications like always-on environs, recorders, and even surveillance video recorders require storage devices that can handle the intense stress and temperature levels. Also, these storage devices are standard desktop (3.5-inch) or laptop (2.5-inch) hard drives. Although the performance of these drives is good, you must know that they are not optimized for music/video playback, recording, etc; which means, a drive that's made specifically for AV storage and playback, would perform better than standard hard drives.
Recently, Western Digital launched an array of such drives. We have with us today a 160GB variant of their AV hard drives.
The Drive
i totally agree that this drive might be good and offer goos read write speeds..but being practical..aa normal basic user ..why to spend more to get this one...when we can get it a lesser price..... but i think it shud have been 10,000 rpm...i mean if its expensive and it shud offer more good specifications,,,...

their 10K r.p.m drives are way overpriced and noisy too. You can put two cheaper and quieter 500GB HDDs in RAID and get both speed and capacity.
