Fellow gamers rejoice: Unreal Tournament 3 (UT3) is more than just screenshots and videos; now you can experience this awesome game in the form of a public beta. Download the beta demo here. Although one can't talk much about beta impressions, there's lots to ogle at in this 700 MB demo. There are some major changes in the game -- and I aren't talking only about the graphics. The game speed will remind you of classic UT. Read on to know more.

Nostalgia

There are 4 game modes in the demo: DM, TDM, Vehicle CTF, and Duel. DM and TDM are classic game modes that need no introduction; Vehicle CTF is again classic CTF with the inclusion of awesome vehicles; and Duel is a one-on-one game mode. Let me go into more details about each mode.

UT3BetaDemo doesent have an inbuilt fps check? Sez who? run "stat fps" in the console atleast the reviewers shouldnt mislead people, if u didnt know it, then say that i used FRPAS, y did u need to say "The game has no in-game benchmark, so I used FRAPS"? Oh, and the Robo-Drop in isnt random, as you would know if werent playing the game with real people! You step into the Holographic Projector, the dancing lady one, and you get a Drop! So, u were climbing into other peoples(bots) drop requests! "...score of 50-55 FPS; and on high a score of 30-35 FPS, both at 16080x1050" OMG i want that rig dammit :) and especially that monitor!!! Whatever! Runs gr8 on a 3000+, 7600gt, 1gb @1024X768

i agree with the guy above techtree u guys are making a lot oe errors these days u need better writers/testers for your site if ur gonna sack some dude call me i sure can do a better job job from these lamers

Just becos the guy didnt knw a command u did,makes the review bad? how?, i think its a fine read and there is everything that one would want to knw about a demo, ppl complain too much on TT

You guys forgot to mention the preset taunting after each kill which is unique to each character. I think what the author was trying to say is that there is no menu option where you can activate the fps counter.

Convert gears of war into fps = ut3 same gfx same architecture. But many difference also. Coz its ut any ways.-P

Can't Wait! I Personally downloaded the Demo few days ago! The Gameplay surely hasn't changed (its as fast as before). Gfx are O.K. on my 3yr old 6800. I wish the stores stock it as soon as it is released! (And I hope there are nearby Ded. Servers to play on :|)
