What We Found
The webcam's body is of glossy, black plastic, with a silver-grey plastic sliding cover that exposes the lens and the microphone when slid down, and protects them from dust when the webcam is not in use.
Near the top is a blue LED that lights up when the webcam is in use. The lens has a focusing ring which we found rather hard to turn, and if you have large fingers, things could become harder. Just above the lens is a snapshot button that fires up the AMCap utility to let you capture quick snapshots.
This webcam has a really long stand -- longer than, well, ET's neck! True to its name, the stand is really flexible. There are three different joints on the stand which allow you to flex it in just about any way you want. This is also extensible via a mechanism like a telescopic antenna. You can rotate the camera 360 degrees if you find the 55 degrees of horizontal viewing angle insufficient (which isn't likely). The minimum height is 22.5 cm, and it can extend to 36.5 cm. The height adjustment is useful if you need to place the webcam on your desk, as this lets it come to face-level.
The base is around 6 cm wide, and is lined with rubber, giving it stability; it won't topple over that easily. A clamping mechanism is not particularly missed. There are screw holes in the base which will even let you mount it on a wall. Its flexibility is better put to use in such a situation. The wire is around 1.4 meters long, meaning you have more freedom in regards to where you place it.

Dear friend... feel the product. Quality comes at a price. VGA and Mega Pixel has no comparison. Getting a better product at a little more price is still worth it man. check for yourself.

i have been using Umax products since last so many years. Nowadays whatever they are launching is better then the last one. Brand that comes with lot of values and not just fake PMPOs, Mega pixel ratings. Keep up the good work.

Won't techtree find it appropriate to include 2 or 3 actual pictures taken in different ambient light settings for the review. After all that is the main use of a (web)cam.
