GTA 2
GTA 2 was a major leap from the original in terms of production values; it had more depth in the gameplay. The game takes place in an unknown city, in an unknown time; the protagonist was called Claude Speed. Claude is released from prison but suffers from amnesia; his goal is to make it big in the city as a gangster. In the PC version, the player could play the game in noon or at dusk; the game's look changed according to the setting.

Similar to the previous game, the player had to score points by completing missions and advancing levels. The game features seven gangs (including a gang named after Lord Krishna). These gangs gave the player jobs to complete and make money. The game was better graphics-wise; it contained a more mature theme, with more blood and violence. It was advertised by means of a short film based on it -- parts of the film were later used to make the game's intro.

Great journey by navneet taking us through the evolution of GTA to it becoming the GOLIATH of GAMES. Evident from an unprecedented buzz and excitement generated for GTA 4. It only proves the mass mania it has managed to generate over the years with its crisp characterization and immersive story telling. Just waiting with bated breath to get my hands on the next GTA venture coming on the X-BOX 360.
