Layout
Now let's have a quick run through with the layout info about the player. The Tech-Com SSD-DVD3100 is a very elegant looking player and its slim form factor and build give you a good feeling and much more when placed on a neat TV shelf.

The player has a glossy black dash which reminds me of a hammer-head shark though, its not as scary. It seemed like there were two eyes on the dash one closed and one open like it were winking. To the left there is the power ON/OFF button of the player. Just beside it is the round control panel that has two buttons on it to jump to either the previous or next file on the disc.
Next came two knobs which are the volume controls for the each of the two MIC jacks beside it. The CD tray is placed in the centre of the dash. The tray is slim and smooth. The tray takes about 5 seconds to come out and another 5 seconds to go back in. To the right of the tray there are three buttons; Play/Pause, Stop, and Left/Right Vocal Channel. Then there is the other eye-like information pod which houses a mini-display inside it.
Finally, the last control on the dash is the tray Eject/Close button at the extreme right. All of the buttons on the dash were very firm and required a push such that the player would almost move a little out of its place.

The back panel of the player has numerous connectors. Most of these connectors comprise of audio input/output and are placed to the left of the rear. They comprise of a 5.1 channel audio out, Stereo audio Out, DVD Output (Y/Cb/Cr - Digital), Coaxial Digital audio output, Optical Digital audio output, S-Video output, and a standard Analog coaxial video output. Towards the other end is the Power Cable of the player and in the center of the player there is also a VGA port.
