is dell 1420 better than vaio cr 35
by faiyaz, mumbai, on Feb 28, 2008 04:02 PM, Report abuse Reply
Dear Faiyaz, I believe that Dell or any other make is definitely a better buy than the CR-35. I have recently purchased a CR-35, but this thing gets too hot to use beyond 5-8 minutes if you want to place it on ur lap. Even the adapter gets toooo hot. If you are using it in a sensitive area, then this is a huge health hazard. Also, the local support seems too pathetic. Good only during sales and the buck never stops after that. The specs look good, but of what use is a system that cant be run. Infortunately, SONY fails to live up to its reputation as the BEST.

To me all vaio products are either for girls/showbiz people or for those who want to show off in front of others. Vaio in hand of a serious coder or hard core user...?? U r kidding..!!!!! LOL never mind the prank...!!

Hi reviewer, We don't need an endless array of screenshots that talk of performance. Either you're lazy or probably under the impression that everyone would understand what's in those screenshots. As a reviewer you should translate all the jargon into common man parlance-- an extra bit of effort and your review could actually turn out to be brilliant. Try it...

Faiz, I completely agree with you. Especially this review had pages after pages of screenshots! It made sense to me since I know what they are, but otherwise - its wasted information when the common man looks at it. Techtree - do something!

I purchased a new Vaio Laptop from Sony Company showroom at Atria Mall, Worli, Mumbai on 25th May 2008. When I turned it on it updated the Norton Anti-virus provided with the vaio which detected hacktools virus in the Intervideo Folder in 2 *.dll files and deleted both of them. Sony Customer care under complaint No. 2978139 logged by Miss Vineeta asked me to recover the system from the Hard-Disk image provided in vaio. After recovery it once again showed the hacktool virus. On 4th June 2008 Miss Mansi at Customer Care Centre asked me to take the system to Sony Service Centre in Mumbai and confirmed that if the problem persists Sony will replace the Laptop. The system was taken to Gamdevi Service Centre Mumbai Log No. 300478783, where Mr. Stephan once again recovered the system, but found the virus hacktools once again. On 6th June 2008, the matter was discussed with Mr. Stephan & Mr. Sakpal and I was promised that someone will revert back to on resolution of this problem. No response whatsoever was received from anywhere till date. I telephoned the Sony Customer Care Toll Free 3 times on 21st June 2008. Each time they promised to call me back, but they never called back. Please note the original software provided with the laptop contains Hacktools Virus. As soon as the virus definitions are updated, the virus is detected and contaminated files deleted. As per conversation with Mr. Sakpal I was told that a similar system with same configuration was also tested and the virus was detected on the same by the technical team. It is getting close to 1 month since I have purchased this laptop and I am unable to use it.
