This phone is touted to be the best of the Sony Ericsson Walkman Series.
Good Build, Good Audio, 8GB memory, Accelerometer.
Fingerprint and scratch magnet, Cramped key placement, Poor radio transmitter, Poor camera, No memory card slot, Poor transfer speeds, Pricey.
The W980i is Sony Ericsson's latest Walkman branded phone to hit the market. It reigns from the W9xx series of Sony Ericsson Walkman phones, the first never to hit Indian shores (W900). The next two - W950i & W960i - were bulky but at the same time provided praiseworthy functionality.
Then a year back the sliding W910i was released but because of firmware issues the phone wasn't very successful. And now we have the flip W980i, an awesome handset that Sony Ericsson has brought out for its music-crazed folks.

Sucky Camera!! Why does SE always puts crappy cam sensors in ots W series fones even when they are priced so high!! W910i and now this!! shucks!! W800i and W810i were good fones. Good Music with Good cameras. But the legacy is lost i guess... Desp'ly waiting for the W902!

I just cannot believe it that u say this phone is waste. All the other reviews site and including 3 reviews on news channel their verdit is that it is the best in music and the radio is ossam the build quality is great and the camera is just fine no regerets what so ever and what else it has got the best music phone award. May be that u guys(techtree) must have got the bad sample phone. Other wise ur views are totally different form all the other. This is just unaccepable beside one thing rhe price is very high one. Note that i am not the Sony Ericssn FAN.

I GOT ONE A MONTH AGO AND IT WOULD FREEZE AND REBOOT UP TO 4 TIMES PER DAY, HAD THE PHONE CHANGED 4 OR 5 TIMES AND THEY ALL DID THE SAME THING, PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF U HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS.
