The drive looks good and has a solid 8 GB of storage space

Looks good, small size, fast read speeds, good software

Slow write speeds with assorted files, a bit expensive

The Flash Drive

Blister pack

This drive is not bundled with anything. It comes in a transparent blister pack. The advertised software is available on the company Web site. In an attempt to find some space for itself in a USB flash drive market already crowded with established brands, Silicon Power offers some incentives to its customers: if you register your drive online, you may win a trip to several destinations in Asia.

The transparent cap can easily get lost

The Ultima II is has a predominantly black polymer body, with transparent plastic at the two ends. The construction looks solid and we feel that it can endure a fair amount of rough use. The company doesn't provide a lanyard, nor is there any provision such as a keyhole to attach the drive to a keychain and so, you've to be careful not to forget it anywhere and have to be extra careful not to lose the cap. Since it is pretty small and weighs just 10 grams, you can easily slip it in the pocket and carry it around.

The red LED indicates activity of the drive

When plugged in, the drive is instantly recognized by Windows Vista. It can also be used for ReadyBoost, though this is not advertised anywhere. When a file transfer activity is in progress, a red LED blinks at the other end of the drive. Let's now take a look at its performance.

partition password feature is a very nice feature. Can you please recommend any other branded pendrive having this feature? If not, from where will this brand/product be available?
