Gameplay
The gameplay is pretty much similar to what the good old Savage had to offer. There are 2 factions -- Humans and Beasts, and you can play as the commander or as a combat unit.
As the commander you play the game in RTS view, whereas while playing as a combat unit, you play the game in FPS and TPS modes. Whereas when you're a part of the combat unit, the commander will give you orders to follow; he would assign you to build, attack, gather, and defend, just like in an RTS game.

The game concept is quite amazing and makes for some interesting gameplay. There are many unit types in both factions, right from the basic worker units to advanced siege units. You can take a look at them in detail
here.
Each unit has a few basic attributes like Health, Mana, Armor, Stamina, and Experience. Stamina is very important; low stamina can lead to weak attacks and inability to sprint. After killing an enemy, you earn a soul, depending on the number of souls you collect you can change summon powerful units called Hellbourne Units; I will talk about them a little while later. Experience points can be used to improve your various attributes and make you character stronger.
You can gain experience by killing enemy units or neutral creeps that can be found in the map. The commander can build and supply you with various weapons and abilities. Killing enemies or destroying the enemy buildings will add money to your inventory and you can use it to buy better weapons.

The combat system has been vastly improved -- there are 3 kinds of attacks, Attack, Interrupt, and Block. These can be executed using the mouse or keyboard. The combat system works like Rock-Paper-Scissors, I hope you guys know the system, and the order is Attack-Interrupt-Block. The combat is deep enough to keep you vigilant and not ignore it like the earlier Savage.
There are a few new units that are available to play; the most noticeable are the Hellbourne units that need to be summoned using a Hell-shrine. The are 2 Hellbourne units are Malphas and Revenant. These units are heavy tankers and damage dealers and can be summoned after acquiring 10 and 15 souls.
Graphics and Presentation
The game looks decent and much better than before. The interface is very simple and user-friendly. It doesn't have high system requirements and works great on most machines.
This is just a sneak peek into the online version of Savage 2, I'll provide with a more detailed report on the graphics once I review the full game in the coming weeks.
nice idea! i've been waiting for a game like this!
