Today, we have for review the Samsung 16X DVD-ROM drive.
Good seek DVD performance, Silent operation, Supports DVD+RW
Read speed locked to 32X when using Audio CD, High CPU utilization during DVD usage, Poor data transfer rate and DAE speed
In the Nero CD Speed test, it gave mixed results. When using a Data CD, it managed an average of 35.16X and a maximum speed 47.03X, which is a little slower that its Lite-On counterpart (37.23X and 48.80X).
i bought a samung dvd wariter . ilost the drivers cd so, i want to install the driver from the net.

I bought samsung DVD writer last year. Now i had a problem with it.it is not working properly. When ever i write a cd or dvd it writes up to 78% on and stops giving a command u r burn process aborted and it also gives an error that it is writer error. please tell me what is the problem and my drive has the warrnty also.

Hi I bought this product. Works reasonably well. The one problem that I have faced is that everytime I burnt an audio or mp3 cd, it will not play well on my car audio system. There is a lot of skipping or it just refuses to play. I generally burn the cds at 8X coz thats the slowest it can burn. Any ideas on how this can be solved?

I have a very bad opinion about this product. I had bought one of this drive and it regularly failed in every six months. Initially I got it repaired under warranty. When it failed the third time and I was told to cough up Rs 700/- for repairs, I went for a SONY drive. Another problem with all Samsung Cd / DVD drives is a noticable jerl on the drive tray when it starts going inside. On some drives this jerk aggrevates and starts locking the drive tray. So users beware before going in for a Samsung Drive.
