Sagem Bleu466x a.k.a. Ramayan Phone

Sagem Bleu466x a.k.a. Ramayan Phone

This phone is definitely not more of the same old, having been designed on a Ramayan-centric theme.

Ramayan content, Great build, Good call quality, Good music player (for the price), Bluetooth.

Sluggish interface, Installing third party applications is not easy.

Build Quality and Design

The majority of the phone's body is made of rubberized plastic. This does two things for the phone. One, it gives it a sophisticated, sporty feel. Second, it gives the user the feeling that the phone is not going to slip out of your hand.

The face of the phone is simple. The space is shared almost equally by the screen and the keys. The screen is a 1.8inch 65k screen which is bright and clear, and performs well. The screen does tend to pick up fingerprints, which mar its looks a little.

Below the screen is the keypad. You'll notice that it's broken up into two - the selection, navigation and receiver keys, and the number keys. The upper part consists of the D-Pad, with the left and right softkeys and the receiver keys forming its boundary. The number keys are inscribed with both English and Hindi alphabets for the messaging utility. Holding down the hash key while in standby mode enables/disables the silent mode. Holding down the call end key powers up/down the device.

At the top of the phone are three keys, a play/pause key in the middle with the volume controls to its left and right. Holding down the play/pause key brings up the music player.

At the bottom of the phone is the micro-USB port which is used to connect the charger, USB cable and the handsfree. The port is not shielded by and lid which could prove detrimental over time.

At the back of the phone are the camera lens and the loudspeaker.
On the whole, I was impressed with the exterior of the phone. It's got a great design, a sporty, sturdy build, a clear screen (which does attract fingerprints) and a few well-placed keys which improve usability.

Conclusion This phone is definitely unique. While I might compare this phone to others with the same features, it wouldn't actually make sense since the USP of this phone is something that you will not get in any other phone in the current market. So read the review, pray a bit and check for yourself whether this phone is the right one for you. The phone is presently priced at Rs.4049/- and for this price you get a 512MB card bundled in, loaded with all the content that make this phone what it is. This is very well-priced and seems like a good option for those who love the great epic it's based on.
