Ladies and Gentlemen - presenting the CDMA Smart phone Absolut D-750!

Excellent features, Cost effective, Perfect smart phone

Screen a bit small for some people, Bulky

CDMA users have had it bad all this while. GSM subscribers have had the pleasure of flashing around their high-end smart phones, while the CDMA user has only been ridiculed due to the lack of options they have on their out-dated mobiles. But 2004 is a time for change, and we were recently struck with a surprise that even we couldn't predict. Ladies and Gentlemen - presenting the CDMA Smart phone Absolut D-750!

The Looks
At 140 x 65 x 24 mm it's not really a small phone by any means and it was surely not designed for carrying in your shirt pocket. However, its curvaceous design makes it a perfect fit for the pant pocket and that's the only way to keep it. The LCD screen is visible only when the phone shell is pulled apart. At first, the screen looks small when compared to the overall size, but believe us when we say that the high resolution 250 x 180 pixel, 65,536 color screen is more than enough for all functionalities.

Just like the Sony Ericsson P900, you can navigate the phone using the keypad or a stylus that can be retrieved from the left side of the phone. Though navigation is as easy as it gets with the stylus, the keypad navigation is not too bad either.

While most phones stick to a standard key layout trying to play it safe, the D-750 has got to be the first phone to come out with a design that's not only innovative but also extremely comfortable to use. All you need to change is the way you hold the phone! Of course single-handed operation is quite impossible on a phone of this dimension, so I suggest you don't even try that.

Features
Most CDMA users would be glad to know that this phone is a powerhouse when it comes to features. The integrated 1 Megapixel camera is absolut-ly (sorry for the pun) the best we've ever seen in a phone. The phone loads up in practically no time, but takes around 5 seconds after clicking to store the picture. The camera is also capable of shooting videos at a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, which is not too bad. You can store all photos and videos either in the phone's built-in memory (32 MB) or on the bundled 128 MB memory card.

The D-750 is loaded with useful features, as you would expect from a phone of this caliber. Among the most prominent applications is the pre-installed Media player for playing video and sound clips. Also included is the Adobe Photoshop Mobile, which lets you professionally manipulate the pictures taken without first transferring to the PC.

A headset comes bundled with the mobile in case you wish to view your movies or listen to the stored MP3s in all privacy.

The overall voice clarity and network coverage of the D-750 is excellent and the battery life lasts easily for 5 days of regular usage, including the camera functions, which is great by any means. It supports connectivity in the form of GPRS, Infrared and Bluetooth. Messaging options include SMS and MMS.

Conclusion
Existing subscribers can get this phone for Rs. 22,500, but if you go in for the new Reliance prepaid scheme, then you can avail of a whopping discount of Rs. 5,500 and pay just Rs. 17,000 for this baby. It's an amazing price for a phone that's as close as it gets to perfection. Now Absolute and Reliance can say it together - Mujhme Hai Who Baat!

Can you really tell me how the POB package is better than the other cheaper versions. Is it only a mobile internet service, which I do not need now. Can you let me know the rate differences if I use your 400 min. free.

Is India shining because Reliance brought this phone! I cannot understand this stupid comments. I think some people want to use this tag of "India shining" to every thing. Reliance is horrible product I ever saw in my life. They just cheat people with all sort of advt gimmics. They sold LG handset for Rs. 10,000/- in the name of "Free" to thousands of people and the tariff of 15 seconds pulse, 40 ps, internet.... all have gone to dustbins. Common man. Every Reliance user knows what is Reliance.

All facilities are useless unless Reliance gives/gets compatibility to Giant messenger servers like Yahoo, Hotmail etc. Do they give RS. 5500 discount from their pockets? I don't understand thier FUNNY schemes! Another &*^%$#@!
