Razer Krait

Razer Krait

This is one Razer product that won't slice your bank balance by much. But is it as good as its siblings? Let's find out.

Ambidextrous design, Light and Ergonomic, High quality1600 dpi optical sensor, Gold plated USB connector, Zero-Acoustic Ultraslick Teflon feet, Good software.

DPI can't be adjusted without software, No extra buttons.

It features smooth feet known as Zero-Acoustic Ultraslick Teflon feet. It was able to glide over both hard and cloth surfaces. Some may not like the feel of these extra smooth feet. However, it is just a question of getting used to it.

The Krait's buttons are the most responsive to date. All you need is a light tap on the button. Razer Krait is able to support 1000 Hz USB polling rate, due to the gold connector.

I tested this mouse on few RPG and FPS games. As I have already mentioned before, I didn't feel any difference in RPG games over a standard gaming mouse. But, it was very good for a FPS games. Since it incorporates the same sensor of Logitech MX 518, I was to able adjust to the mouse in a matter of few minutes, but it felt a bit small in my hands and extremely light weight. Maybe I am accustomed too much to the MX5xx series, since I have been using the MXs for over 3 years.

The mouse was able to pick up even the fastest movements in a FPS game and was very precise. But that is something practically all gaming mice are able to do. In the end, it all boils down to feeling comfortable with the shape, weight and feel of the mouse.

The Razer Krait is thankfully available in India, through V-Street's online store. It sells for Rs. 2550/- which makes it slightly expensive when compared to Genius Ergo 520 and Logitech G1. However, the difference is just a few hundred bucks, and if you like to try it, go ahead and buy one. After all it's a Razer, but for a change, it won't slice your bank balance by much.

Krait = Crap mouse. I have a Krait and a Logitech G5 and the G5 is miles ahead. The shape of the Krait makes it very uncomfortable to use.

that just depends on your grip style. Krait is meant for those who use fingertip and claw style grips while G5 is for those with a palm grip Looks like you are a n00b....

A Krait is a mouse? I prefer two buttons with a scroll to multi-buttoned mice.
