Thank God for home video capture devices, we can finally get our precious videos converted to an electronic format
During the good old days when ignorance was truly bliss, we used to use VHS tapes to record all our memories. Weddings, childhood memories and even our favourite TV shows were all stored in this great format that we thought might last us all our lives. Then the digital revolution kicked in and made us wake up and smell the coffee, in other words, made us realise that we were recording memories that are so dear to us to a format that would soon become a breeding ground for fungi.
Thank God for home video capture devices, we can finally get our precious videos converted to an electronic format that can be easily modified, chopped, joined, and manipulated in any way you see fit and then stored in a medium that will for a fact last you a lifetime. That's exactly what the Plextor ConvertX allows you to do.
The first question that comes to mind is why spend so much on a device that's only good for video capture, when you can do the same thing using a cheap TV Tuner card? Well, the answer is very simple - Can you capture DVD quality, high-resolution video with your TV card? No? I thought so.

I want to know the cost and availability and name of the store in Mumbai or Pune

Poor "titan from Iowa"... :what country do you people live in?' 'What is a RS?' Pick up a copy of National Geographic- get aSUBSCRIPTION to it. Read it from cover to cover for the next five years. Then come back to Techtree. Geez.. Amuricuns can't see beyond the borders of Mexico or Canada. Most of them don't even know where Iraq (Eye-RAck) is..

I find that it is an easy system to work but not the final product. The burning or cutting of the DVD at the end is not good.

Hey what about DivX format? I guess this is the only Converter which supports DivX format & thats the biggest advantage of this product along with MPEG4 standard.

Cables are not at an issue, one can just buy extension which is very cheap for Rs. 50 & Power cable comes for sure. I bought this for my personal use. I am very very happy.

I have seen some of work of the so called professional wedding phtograhers converting the VHS movies to DVDs. These were abolutely atrocious. Till recently the units that could do the job such as Panasonic were in the vicinity of Rs. 50,000. So ths is not a bad deal at all.
