A wireless keyboard and mouse from Philips -- just how convenient is it?

Elegant design, slim, light-weight keyboard, good gaming mouse

Too easily damaged by spills, limited bundle

Design and Features (Keyboard)

This is a surprisingly slim keyboard. Although it's basically a plain rectangle, the pure black color with a blue stripe across the top gives it a look of subdued elegance. It feels comfortable on your lap. The keyboard has five multimedia buttons and a scroll wheel that alters the volume when moved and mutes audio when clicked. There is no indicator for caps lock, numeric lock or scroll lock status on the keyboard itself, though there is an onscreen indicator.

The LED on the receiver lights up every time it receives input from the keyboard or mouse. Typing with it on a steady surface feels a bit odd since the keys are the same depth as a conventional keyboard but are recessed deeper into it.

The keyboard and mouse have matching colors and look good together. The board is also surprisingly light and carrying it around for prolonged periods on one hand won't be strenuous. The keyboard feels ergonomic; however, although spill proof (up to 50ml), it does start malfunctioning if you get that much water on it.

It was a little disappointing to not have the scrollbar to scroll pages and only control the volume.

The batteries go into the top edge of the keyboard behind it

With the sole exception of the wireless functionality, it seems like an average keyboard. Operating on the standard 2.4GHz frequency, it does have a pretty good range of 10m, though.

Dear Evaluator, you mention 2.4GHz connectivity as standard, how many other vendors are offering this at this price range....

My GOD! U call this a gaming mouse! WTF! Those too AA size batteries are going to add so much weight! Not to mention the lag & inaccuracy when sniping! Techtree, it was reading one of your review abot the G5 (thats a real gaming mouse from Logitech) that I purchased a G5 & now I read this. Really dissapointing! If there ever was a true wireless gaming mouse its the G7 which btw was reviewed by you guys & should be the std, u must compare against when calling any other wireless mouse as gaming mouse!
