Palit X1950Pro Super

Palit X1950Pro Super

It's bright red, big and fat. No, it's not Rudolf's nose we're talking about. Palit's 512MB Graphic Card with a humungous HSF is here to entertain you.

Good performance, 512 MB memory, Good HSF, Well priced.

Dual-slot design, Poor over-clocker.

Budd! I brought this card (GeForece 8600GT Super/512MB/128Bit/GDDR3) 3 months back and it cost me around 10K. Current price is less than 10K now and easily available in Nehru Place. And performance with Intel motherboard /core 2 duel 1.8 Process and with 2 GB RAM is Amazing. Games that I played on this card is Ghost Recon Advance War Fighter, Carbon, NSF Most wanted, Serious Sam 2, Helo, Xpand Ralix Xtreme, and Tomb Rider. All these games acquire 4-5 GB in system. I m running this card on Direct X 9.

With eminent advent of DX-10 cards- every mfr is throwing their excess inventory of DX-9 cards at cut prices. Consumer needs to be very wary of purchase of exp. cards now- because DX-10 games will need DX-10 Cards !! & they are going to hit the market with 8600, 8500 series soon.

You dont NEED a dx10 graphic card to run a dx10 game. Something of the processing power of an x1950pro will run all these dx10 games without a hitch.

directx 10 has program volumetric shaders, program high defition so if you have a directx10 graphic card and a directx 10 game you can benifit form this, however if you don't and you have a directx 9 card then you can still play directx 10 games but you will not be able to have volumetric shaders, program high defition enabled.

Whose reply was that, vijayshimla? Weren't you the one who taught me not to copy other people things, eh?

Why are you cribbing about volumetric shaders etc. Buy a Playstation 3 if you want raw game processing power. Otherwise this sounds like two nerds talking about things the whole world wouldn't give a phuk about !!

As if calling something "B" instead of "A" makes such a difference. OS , Games , Utilities , Music , Video ... and "you" make the whole rig. And what "you" need is a machine which complements your need. To that end graphics cards are peripherals. Because not everyone on this earth likes the "big boys" and not everyone is hung on the latest phart from Microsoft. Lemme give you some advice ... sit and meditate and find out what you want to do in life ... you will find your "rig" and your OS and most importantly you will find there is no need for such inane comments ... comprende dude ?

Hey fellas and Techtree, I have something to say. The new Microsoft OS, Vista, needs a decent dx9 graphic accelarator to run in its full glory. Which means a graphics card is no longer a peripheral. Not that it was since the last few years considering the stunning leaps in technology, but now that Big Brother recommends them, Graphic accelarators have officially become an essential component of the rig to run a state-of-the-art OS, bells, whistles and all. And lets face it, how many of us are really willing to settle for a basic version of Vista? We want the frills, right? :D So, maybe its time we stopped referring to graphic accelarators as peripherals, eh Techtree? Or are you gonna wait till the foreign websites do it so you can follow the lead? Or until all Indian PCs have Vista Ultimate installed? Cuz thats gonna take a while. The torrent sites don't have fully functional pirated versions of Vista Ultimate yet. :D Regards.
