A great camera and a great phone overall

Layout and Design
This phone surprised me the moment I got it out of the box. It's light, in contrast to the impression the N-series has created, but it's still bulky. The large 2.4-inch screen, however, makes you immediately neglect the fact that it's bulky. The navigation keys reminded me of the N81 -- the main difference being that the D-pad doesn't offer the touch navigation.
The navigation keys are soft, yet very tactile. The alphanumeric keypad has similar keys to the ones on the N91, which are too thin for quick texting. The face of the phone overall flashes a metallic look.
In between an unshielded microUSB port and a charging port is the memory card slot (with a dust cover) on the left, while the right side of the phone has the volume controls, two camera buttons, and speakers on either end to provide a stereo effect. The top of the phone has the power button and a 3.5 mm earphone jack, so you can connect your choice of headphones instead of having to use the standard headset.
The rear of the phone has the camera and the Xenon flash. There is a slider that opens the lens cover while also activating the camera.

After seeing the features of S60 3rd Edition FP2 i feel it would be great if this one would possess FP2..... as the hardware specs of this phone are gr8 .....

THE only negative was its silver color. NOW BLACK IS HERE ..so it is THE best phone .U cannot get slr qlty photo in cellphone.similarly u cannot get creative player like qlty in music...BUT COMBINIG everything NOKIA N82 is the best package.below 20000 is the best buy not to miss the best call quality and durabilty for which nokia is known for.MY NOKIA 6630 is still going strong after 3 years with rough handling...i m going for NOKIA N82 BLACK.

no prob with red eye ..u have to manually select red eye reduction from flash menu .. it does support stereo bluetooth ..i am using n82 with motorola s9 headset

Does the N82 support stereo bluetooth? so that one can listen to your favorite tunes with stereo and not the dumb old mono.

also its for those u want all the goodies in a phone and are not much fussy abt looks of their phone . anyways it coming in black version which looks very good and classy as n81 ..mentioned by someone here .. and that xenon flash rocks ..

guys n82 is the phone to own ..use it and then bash it ..so many funny comments abt it like brick and what not ..its bulky ..wow..i have been using it for last 2 months and never found it bulky ..awesome camera ..check other online reviews and then comment abt it camera . i will just say use it and then comment ..cheers .

Yes with a 8GB internal memory and an attractive slider design the N81 seems to be a better value for money. poor camera (2mp) and no GPS lets it down and it is a hardcore smart phone where everything is designed to be complicated to use!!!!!!! (provision of large number of buttons)

Nice phone but DVB-H and touch screen missing otherwise better than N95. SE launched it's P11 phone which seems to have everything one can expect from a high end phone

How about Techtree reviewing the other end of the spectrum,feaure rich Chinese and other models like Melbon, Usha Lexus, magicon, MBM,Sky etc?They too seem to be able to offer substantial at reasonable price!

Nice review but still needs a lot of improvement.Also u could have shown a picture taken in complete darkness to highlight the xenon flash capability & also u could have shown pics of k850i taken in same condition alongside for a better comparison instead of just telling it in mere words coz many sites say that the flash of n82 is way ahead than that of k850i & in quality wise n82 actually leads by a small margin.Also it would have better if u have commented about the audio output & it's quality in detail.

I bought it on 1st Jan, took it to USA with me & I m very happy with it... I have been using K850i for a while but his one is the best of all the phones I ever used.. Equiped with 5MP camera & Xenon Flash the Pictures are very good.. Even in total darknes the picture is clear & there is also a red light to identify the objects in dark... GPS is good too.. Added WI-Fi comes in handy sometimes..... Overall experience is very good.. It eliminates my need of carrying a Camera, GPS device & PDA for Internet.....
