Design

The N76 is resembles the MotoRAZR - They share the same clamshell form and the "slim" factor as well. The N76 has the looks and the style, but can it match up to the likes of the RAZR? Here is a closer look at the piece.

With the N76, Nokia enters the "stylish" league of cellular phones. A major portion of its face is covered by a mirror, behind which hides the external display of the phone. Under the mirror are three playback buttons - Previous, Play/Pause, and Next. These buttons can also be used for navigation, but not absolutely.

The left side has the charging point and a memory card slot; while on the right there are volume control keys, and the gallery and camera hotkey side-by-side.

The bottom of the phone houses the speaker, as well as the lanyard hole.

The top of the phone has the power button, miniUSB port and a 3.5mm headset jack. The placement of these ports is such that they are difficult to access when the clam is open. Even otherwise, with none of the two cables connected, the power button is inaccessible.

On the back, the top-left has a camera and flash. There is no mirror, but the chrome band does the needful.

Inside the clamshell is a large display and the 3G camera located right above it. Opening the clam is a bit difficult as the size of the phone is large; you end up using both your hands.

N76's keypad sports the same RAZR V3i type steel finish, but is bigger in size. The large size of the keys helps avoid pressing the wrong keys. The keypad has a dark blue backlight.

The placement of some of the keys is a bit annoying though; like the placement of the clipboard key and the 'C' (clear) key. They are placed just below the D-Pad and aren't separated; both lie on the same piece of metal. Even the D-Pad is a bit confusing because the center key is small and is at the same level as the side keys.

All in all, the design makes the phone makes it ideal for a girl because of the all reflective surfaces. All this reflective surface makes it a fingerprint magnet.

though is not loud enough, the sound quality is better then its lott. looks good on formal use. but the camera seriously needs attention. it sucks!...i doubt the pixels of it!.. oh and the battery... it goes out of its place leading to black-outs quite often! but over all... its a nice fone with a modified look (tho its phony)! fed up with razer held in all hands! (my servant has one too)... n76-for people who like to be different!☺

the biggest drawback of the n76 is that once you plugged in the handsfree the phone will not open all the way. the location of the pop port is such that while the handsfree remains plugged in it will obstruct the flip from opening all the way.

Paul is Partially correct that Nokia phones Suck. But Sony Ericsson Music phones have only good sound quality with poor camera quality. But the Cybershot phones have excellent camera quality with poor Sound Quality. And Moses, ur Sentence must be framed like this:- "When it comes to sound, camera, GPRS, and stability, Nokia makes its USERS *bite* the dust" . lolz If u want a phone with Good soung quality and a Good Camera, Go for RAZR V3i. bmk is wrong. Is N76 a complete Smart phone ? Obviously no. For a phone nearing the price range of 20,000/- It deserves a lot more than only good sound and Only 2MP camera (with poor quality). There no Wi-Fi ! So, Do u think u'll buy a N76 for that hefty amount or a Good looking RAZR V3i for just 8.000/- ? Nokia must feel ashame, their phone is being compared to the one which is Less than half priced than it !! And Jasmeet is right, The Rocking RAZR 2 will completely blow the N76 out of water !

I totally agree man, i mean its like a cheap piece of plastic wid glitter paint which comes off every time u take a call. Motorola has got class, d paint doesnt wear off even aftera couple of years.

i agree dude this phone has no competition with motorazr.. this phone reallyy sucks...i bought it for Rs.17000/- used it for a week and sold it for 12500/-. this phone has a worst sound in Nseries and please no phone for photographer please camera is very very poor.

Design wise this phone dosent come near the razar,Cant compare this wit the razar in design with the sleek space looking concentric rings metallic finished, blue back lighting keys, still making the razar look like some futuristic cell straight frm some Hollywood Si-Fi. Where as this has very tacky lookin keys nd the gold band somehow compliments the cheap glossy plastic in a more cheaper way. ...But i think its just the camera angles nd the macro shoots thats making it look so bad. ;)

Is it just me or are the pics posted for the N76 WAYYYYYYYYYY too ugly ??? -- You guys need to have appropriate INDIRECT lighting when you click pics -- trust me, it helps .... Or click da pics when there'z a little sunshine in the room -- Coz i've seen da N76 and its not half as close to ugly as it looks in the pics !
