Should have bundled at least a 1 GB card, Average music quality, Inconsistent network performance.
After Sony Ericsson wooed the market with its Walkman series in 2005, Nokia decided to counter-attack by releasing its own brand of music-centric devices dubbed as XpressMusic. The XpressMusic category of phones is positioned above the standard Nokia models and slightly below the N series ones.
They started with the Nokia 3250 and now the range includes 7 different models. I'm reviewing the XpressMusic's latest iteration yet, the Nokia 5610.
The Nokia 5610 is specifically similar to the Nokia 6500 Slide. Only difference being that the Nokia 6500 Slide is styled mainly for business professionals while the 5610 is a more youthful phone.

I dont know that yow you people are measuring the screen size, as per my personel view the display screen size is only nearing to 1.75". I purchased this model last month only for its screen size but i was not there...

hi.. dont buy 5610. though the music n camera are good, it automatically restars wn u r on call or listenig to music. and the worst part is the slider comes off after few days.and the nokia care guys will tell that it is physical damage and the warranty will be over wih in months. the cost of slider is 750/- AVOID THIS FONE. N73 is better. or got for SE k810i

My Nokia 5610 xpress music mobile set goes black out frequently and begins to restart later. It happens during attending calls or listening FM radio or even in standby mode. The dealer asked me to change SIM card. I had changed the SIM. But still the irritating problem continues. I will tell all the viewers to avoid this set. Never u should buy 5610 xpress music.

5610 has better cam among the three.as far as music is concerned get EP 630 headphones along with 5610 and its as good as walkman or even better as someone has pointed above

I've had this phone for bout 3 months now. I've also owned and used N91, N73, w810i, w850i and K790i in the past. Would like to answer some of the questions below. If you're trying to decide between an N73/ME, 5700, SE wxxx or Kxxx and 5610 - go for the 5610 without a doubt. That is, if music is your priority. The N73 ME is not really an improvement over the regular N73 in terms of SQ, but keep in mind, its much more than just music. Someone down there said 5610 has a better camera than the N73 which is total bull. The SE wxxx series have nothing worthwhile except megabass, which is dulled by its major cons (terribly low volume via headphones and the stupid pop port). The SE Kxxx series are good if you want an average music player, pretty good camera and a fast UI. So the bottom line ? 5610 is the way to go if good SQ is your main priority, the cam isn't half bad either. Its probably the third best music phone out there, after N91 and 81. But then again the N91 is like a stand alone DAP with a slightly inferior screen (hehe, no offense but its just terrible), the screen on the 5610 is superb. The N81 was my original choice but its an altogether different price bracket, and OSS isn't really my thing. Oh and the big album art on the 5610 is just wonderful :) Whoever said the 5310 is different from the 5610 as far as music and SQ are concerned ? They are basically the same hardware and UI, in fact the 5310 delivers slightly better sound using 3rd party headphones because of its 3.5mm jack (more the breaks in your wiring, more the distortion). Never used a moto, so no comments on that. But seriously, I wouldn't wanna buy a brand that might just turn into the next Siemens story :) But then, its just me. As far as crackling and hissing goes, it might be due to an old FW issue. Just try updating the phone software via PC suite, it should fix it. My phone did crash a couple of times, but not after FW update. That said, the only major drawback with 5610 is the lack of an in-line remote. I mean its a music phone ffs. Forget the 512mb card, (you can get a 2gb for 800 INR max), the least Nokia could do for its 'musicphone' would be to give a decent adapter with remote and better bundled headsets. I know it sports A2DP but try finding a 3rd party headset that pairs 100% with it.

Well guys i jus bought 5610 few days back...i must say its really a HOT lookin phone...vry stylish...picture quality is crisp n sharp...& music too but the battery life is nt tht gr8...i need to charge every day...may be im using it to much... :P ..Over all the phone is a best buy...Go fr it GUYS....

crap...i ve used w300 for bout a year...and now i am using a music express phone....5310.....music quality sucks ...big time ....first ...there is no bass boost....second....cracking can be noticed with creative ep 630 ear buds....192 kbpsfile......hissin can be noticed durin the silent parts in an audio file....i d rather listen on a tape recorder.....

I agree with Raja. The camera quality is such that u wont require a digicam. Plus it comes with a 1GB card. And just to inform u guys, its available at Rs. 11, 300/-, at least in Delhi (K790i)

it is much better than n73 , as it's styling is good,music quality awesome and a bonus is its camera and the clarity is good. really worth buying . the negatives are its battery cover, it is ridiculous to open it and will break any time and this phone does not come with a 1 GB card.

i have heard both 5610 and w580i ........im damn sure 5610 is better than 580i if same headphones r used for both....5610 has better sound quality than walkman phones ...............SE provides headphones that go inside your ears but if u use them wid 5610 then 101% 5610 wins over any walkman phone

Dude, you could improve on the following things as far as your reviews are concerned, 1. keep the specs of the phone in mind when writing the review instead of claiming otherwise (u claiming the USB to be 1.1 when it is specified as 2.0 on 'Specification, OS' ie. page 4. 2. also u say that the phone music quality isnt that good on the supplied headphones, did you even try testing the music on any other good headphones like sennheiser, bose.....??? walkman phones are great( i own 3 of them and have almost all the accesories so i am very well versed with them) but the nokia xpress music series has better sound quality then the current range of walkman phones, i have an N82 and even it plays way better music then the walkmans when heard on the sony ericsson headphones HPM - 82. 3. also many other sites write reviews about phones, i'm sure you could do a good job as techtree has been doing earlier, i'm truly disappointed with this review.

I cant understand what u are upset about. To quote the reviewer 'It took over 6 minutes to transfer 300 MB worth data. Seems like a USB 1.1 here'. Now what difference does it make if the spec sheet says USB 2.0 when in reality u get USB 1.1-like speeds. In fact the reviewer is giving u insightful information that the transfer speed is less than 1 MBps. So why u getting mad at him?
