Motorola's RAZR variations never seem to stop. This time they have added one more to their 'SLVR L' range of handsets.
Stylish, Good build & finish, 2MP Camera, FM Tuner, Bluetooth A2DP, Good battery life.
Slow Interface, Poor Music Playback option.
Motorola's RAZR variations never seem to stop. They are churning out new models every season and this time they have added yet another model to their 'SLVR L' range of handsets. It's a build up over the L7e and is called L9i. The L6 and L7 models didn't appeal much to the masses and even the upgraded L7e doesn't couldn't hold itself up. Motorola has been doing a lot of advertising for the L9i. Let's analyse whether the L9i has what it takes to achieve market significance, especially as it is placed in the same price band as Sony Ericsson's K750i.

Motorola have continued their old habbit of the RAZR-like designed phones and the latest member, the SLVR L9. is a direct successor of the L7 and they do have lots in common. In fact, there's almost no difference ! & that is the main point of emphasis- Motorola is simply rehashing same old design & trying to present as new!. As 7 days owner of this good looking fone- I can tell U that Camera is nothing much- because there is no flash- no night mode- and even in good light pics are just so-so. I will be re-selling this fone soonest i can find a bakra.

it's easy dude in the songs menu there is option which lets you create a playlist. from here you can easily create a playlist for all songs you want

You can't listen FM via bluetooth headset. FM needs wired handsfree which serves like a antenna.But when you connect it to L9 bluetooth headset gets disconnected. BT headset is only meant for listening to Media player. You can install Java applications on L9 Also you can install skins. Hi Ankit, You can?t use BT headset for listening FM. As you know, FM needs wired headset which serves as an antenna. But when you connect it to L9, BT headset gets disconnected. BT headset is only meant for listening media player. It has volume controls and call receiver on it?s LHS. It?s RHS has controls for pausing & resuming of track being played and also for changing next or previous track. It?s only backdrop is that it responds in abnormally longer time when you use media player for playing tracks and for viewing pictures. Or else this is one of the ROCKING phone from Moto.

The diff. in L9 & L9i lies in its packages. L9i package is the premium one which contains BT headset,whereas L9 standard package doesn?t contains BT headset. The phone is same i.e. Moto SLVR L9 in both the packages. I?ve got L9i package for 10.5K in the 1st week of Sep. It contains: SLVR L9, BT headset(S9),wired handsfree, Software CD, 512 MB MicroSD card, USB cable, Battery&Charger.

Just purchased a L9i , i have found it to be a VFM , sleek, stylish ,and a very high quality sound reproduction capability.Compared to the phones available at Rs 8200 , nothing could even match the sound clarity, not even the higher end Nokia 70 & 72,

You can create folders for song and video by using a computer and creta new folders and drag n drop files. Else using ur cell u can create categories, which ar actually folders on the memory card. You can view the conents folder wise by pressing the * and # keys. As far as the software is concerned, you need to have XP SP2 installed for the SW to run properly. Its a good phone, with right value for money

I think rating system is truly amazing- Highly rated fone like SE W-610i- which even according to you has outstanding 256K color TFD, 1.96-inch screen which supports a 176 x 220 pixels resolution has a great sound output with earplugs as well as its speaker& has Walkman v2.02 MP camera with autofocus smooth interface -superb battery-& very well reviewed- BUT fetches 4 STARS & this pc. of Moto Insipidity L9i- with a so so 2 MP Cam-music player not the best as stated by you-poor interface-as stated by you- YET wonder of wonders- this fetches this phone--4 STARS There should be some standards for award of these STARS if they are to have any meaning- I think L9i would easily take 2-1/2 STARS if same standards is to be maintained.

you are right vijay. but i think it has got a rating of 4 because it belongs to a different price segment. w610i costs Rs.14500 while the price of L9i is Rs.9200. in that price range its features are good and ratings are given in the price-features ratio. but still i think it is a bit overpriced. it could have been a good buy if the price would be around Rs.8000 - Rs.8500. i mean i would go for this phone only if it had above price tag.

Not all men are the same. Same goes for their taste n choice of products. Else there would have been just 1 device for all. Enough gyaan :) On a more serious note, the rating has a very strong Value for Money element as it is the most critical factor, especially here in India. The SE W610i undoubtedly is a very good phone but it sells for arnd 15K (atleast till a few weeks back). The L9i sells for 40% less and is packed with fair amount of features and a style quotient higher than the 610i. And these days, the gadgets need to make a style statement for a lot of people. How else can one explain the runaway success of the iPod. We are geeky too with technology being our top priority but we also have to touch upon the other aspects and broaden our perspective. So all and all, the L9i is a neat deal for 9K and hence the 4/5 rating. The rating is not a simple straight line. Along with objective evaluation, there is a subjective element to it as well.

But maybe you should have then mentioned its value for money as a strong point in the header itself....the rating would have made more sense then....also please make the 'next page' link in a different colour as many newbies whom I refer your website to find it difficult to go the next page.I believe it is a long overdue correction.

The driver CD has bugs. While installing the tool it displays error in Windows 2K. After installation of tool, the device driver is also not working. The device is unable to be installed successfully... Poor end user support & guide.
