Want a great value for money phone with music player and FM? Try the MotoYuva W270, it may just do the trick.

Sturdy and stylish design, Good call quality, Good MP3 player, Great FM reception, Good battery life.

Slight Design issues, Small screen, Slightly sluggish interface.

Build Quality & Design

Like I've said before, quite a bit of thought has been put into the design of this phone. The phone is stylish despite a lack of flashy finishes. Most of the body has a matte black finish, which gives it an elegant look. Some may say that the all-plastic body coupled with the glossy front panel gives it a cheap look but once you feel the phone, you are sure to change your tune. There are three camouflaged icons on top, each of which is backlit when you have a missed call, a message or if the battery is low or charging.

The W270 has a very solid feel to it. Having said that, there are a few flaws in the design, some of them quite inexplicable. There are a few gaps at joints like the battery cover and between the front panel and the main body, which tends to collect dust. Another thing is that the memory card is not hot-swappable, as the slot is located below the battery. While this is less than ideal, it's workable. What's worse is the cramped battery compartment.

Once I put the memory card in its slot, I couldn't get it out short of prying it out with a screwdriver, and this definitely a design flaw.

Also the position of the headset port at the bottom of the right side makes it inconvenient when using with the right hand.

The dust covers over the mini-USB port and the memory card slot are my personal nemeses. Call me a stickler for details, but I just feel that they are too susceptible to breakage by even slightly rough usage.

Well enough about the outside, let's go to the keypad and screen.

The interior of the phone lives up to the promise made by the exterior barring one exception - the screen. The keys are well spaced out and there is no risk of mistyping a key when using it to call. There is direct access to the two main features of the phone, the multimedia player and the FM receiver.

The screen is a bit of a disappointment. The 128x128 pixel screen makes the whole interface feel a bit cramped. A slightly bigger screen would have been nice.

I think this guy R. P. Anand is a representative of some of motorola 's competitor. This guy hasn't liked any feature in the phone ..flip which is very very untrue. I am already using moto yuva w270 phone since its launch its voice quality, music and battery are excellent. I think R.P. Anand needs to be told its an entry level not a premium class phone. Please someone teach him about the classification of phones.

I have actually been using the moto flip W220 by MOtorola, which is actually a younger cousin of this model only lacking in music player and expandable memory. What i meant was that even my phone has a really really slow interface (yes i typed two really's on purpose). This alone can irritate the c**P out of u when messaging... and guess what? even this model has the same problem. So i think its generic!!

purchased it recently and comments are 1. Battery on standby i.e. no FM,Music and few minutes call is ONLY 2 DAYS- VERY BAD CONSIDERING IT HAS 960 mah BATTERY. 2. MUSIC PLAYER IS VERY BASIC - NO EQUALISER FOR TONE CONTROL-bass sound is bad with headphone-only voice and high frequency is heard well. 3. headphone is too big and does not properly fit and as such outside sound is disturbing. 4. Speaker volume at full volume is only average for a phone with music player. You cannot hear it in buses, trains etc. only in silent rooms you can hear it and that too with low sound. Defeats the purpose of player when you are on the move. Only headphone sound is loud with poor sound quality 5. The display brightness/contrast of screen cannot be adjusted and that drains the battery. 6.Within a music folder the songs donot automatically play serially. You have to play each song after the previous stops.only the ALL SONGS folder plays automatically. 7. Despite the so called crystal talk tech., the call quality is just above average. 8. Motorola could have charged few hundred rupees more and given better Music Player, louder sound, better quality headphones and better battery backup. IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT MUSIC AND THAT TOO QUALITY SOUND, THEN DONOT GO FOR THIS PHONE. bETTER BUY SOMETHING IN THE RS.4000-6000 RANGE FROM SOME OTHER BRAND LIKE SONY ERICCSON, NOKIA ETC. Price considerations alone does not make it a better phone. I was mislead by the hype in ads

"The closest competitors to this phone are the MotoSLVR L6i and the LG C2500, since they both possess a music player and a radio." That is not a proper comparison. Both those phones do not have expandable memory. To my mind, a phone shouldn't even be called a music phone if there isn't memory enough to store a few songs. In the case of the C2500 at least the built-in memory is somewhat large but not the L6i surely.

"When you start the recording function while you are listening to the radio, you will notice a significant widening of the round, a reverb effect of sorts." Is it possible that you do not know the meaning of reverb? It has nothing to do with stereo widening. In fact reverb during speech recording would make it less intelligible. "Surprisingly, no calls were dropped while the train compartment was empty." - why is this surprising? What has the empty compartment got to do with call drops?

How many times do you review the same phone ? Have you forgotten the last time you reciewed it > I would not recommend the phone to anyone. Other than the style it cannot be called a phone becaue it fails on all fronts. The keypad is not at all easy to use, calls get disconnected ven before you can say "HELLO" or at any time during the call, if you receive 1 SMS, it will show you any number .... the problems are too many. What is worse, Mororola refuses to change the phone even though the complaints have been noticed and reported from day-1. You will have to purchase another phone so that you can take this W270 to the Service Cbtre immediately after purchasing the same. My experience with the W270 is too pathetic for any words and I regret having been mis-lead by the advertizements and deciding to waste my money on a piece of junk. If anyone is thinking of buying the W270 for its Music Player, he would be better advised to spend his money on an MP3 player instead.

nitwit, when have they reviewed this phone earlier? Secondly, style does not a phone make. I have used this phone and I find it quite good and definitely value for money. As far as buying an MP3 player goes, well does the player have the ability to call?

It seems there's some problem in ur particular handset. W270 is actually a innovative phone - generally others pack in camera, bt etc and increase the price.
