Internal hard drive capacities are assuming gargantuan proportions, and their external counterparts are not far behind - they're almost matching the capacities, albeit at an understandably higher price. Now storage giant Maxtor has come up with a 750 GB version of its OneTouch 4 Plus external drive: the STM307504OTE3E5-RK. We got our hands on one of these and passed it through our tests.
I have a 1 TB version of this (purchased in US) and is noisy compared to the more humble Maxtor Basic counterpart.

I would think that like a Big player in the upcoming days who's going win the market with it's satisfactory performance issues. For large backup it should satisfy all the need. No wonder if it's seen majority people's choice.

guys/ visitors, i am looking for an external HDD/ HDD enclosure/wire (portable solution) with which i can connect internal drives by USB, firewire, esata/sata as well as RJ45/ethernet port. I will appreciate your views and suggestions for the same. I have seen a wireless router on newegg which can accomodate a sata internal HDD few weeks back, so solutions like this will also suffice. A portable device would be prefered, i meant to say. Only thing is it should be realible. DO pour in ur thoughts and alternatives even if recommended hardware does not fully matches my requirement (which can be difficult) Thanks.
