Any Idea on How the updates on maps are provided and how many of them are free? Also Can you tell me how is this on the highways? I get lost easily in Karnataka roads especially in the night.

Can you mail me the following: 1.Cost of equipment. 2.How to buy? 3.Would you be able to arrange for a demo in Gurgaon? I am using GPS TOM TOM 1 in US and I found it very useful. I want to buy one for my brother who lives in Gurgaon.

Can u download all ur stored POIs or routes etc -the history - that u feed-in (i.e. YOUR inputted data) into this GPS unit - back to ur computer? My Garmin Plus3 did not allow this (sob!). Worst still it had some storage battery - which when it went drained complete led to the loss of ALL my stored-in info, data in terms of the way points etc ... The vector-route of 500km should stay n not trail like an earthworm ... only then the route u took can be 'stored' and u can travel that route again in the future. In fact i'd love if it can store the history of the exact routes (much like all nos. dialled as done by a cellphone). How many waypoints can it store (My Garmin cud store the recent 500 of them). When is this device hitting the markets. I m crazy @ GPS ..........!

well for now with my SE W810i itself Im able to get something like maps and stuff called www.8motions.com... go to the site register free and get ur mobile with the software it detects when u connect to wap and www.8motions/m then u can actually see places like in google earth or map mode.... quite ok only hope hutch or vodafone doesnt jack me with huge bills... I guess this too needs external GPS device to be fully functional whereas some smart phones already have that facility...

Scroll through the entire article, so that Techtree can show one hundred advertisments in the process! And finally, you will know that the cost is 21,000 at the very bottom of the article. I wonder why TechTree cant put it right on top, along with positives and negatives...

dear sir I have very poor opinion on SATGUIDE,navigator as it does not work also maps are not updated, for cen
jssandhu | pune | 30/11/07 06:15 AM | Report abuse Reply
JSS SATGUIDE is not as bad but yes they do not update maps as they promise. Specially the Pune map. PCMC area is just missing. Now it looks they are releasing the upgrade today eveing but there is a charge. Everyone gives the first upgrade free. I have req, them to let us first evaluate to see if it worth getting the upgrade before we spend on upgrade. But at the moment it is not worth recommending anyone as such.
