Kodak V803

Kodak V803

Here's a great shutterbug for the average user. Big on the megapixel, this curvy gadget is a delight to click pictures and shoot movies with.

Build, Style and finish, 8 MP, features and scene modes, decent image quality, can use zoom when shooting videos.

Sluggish performance, poor LCD performance in daylight, High noise levels in images over ISO 400, under powered battery, Video performance, under powered flash, redeye reduction systems fail most times.

hi oswin, its the second time i had been to mumbai on 13th may and i bought an camera from a mall adjoining mc donalds it was sony cybershot W35 for 12,700/- with 3 years warranty. this camera is far much berrer than this kodak as per quality, fine pictures and a battery life of around 9 days. it is a far much better option to go for sony W35 or W55 14,500/-

If U R a professional (even if a bit) buy a Canon A-640-- best rated cam in this range- with excellent plus picture perfoirmance and all the control that U desire in professional picture taking. Compared to this Sony W series are just snapshot cams.

Canon A 710 IS. MP wise its decent but the killer thing is the 6x zoom on offer with the image stabilization. grey market rates around 13k as is if u buy retail in US through someone. Dont buy retail in India. It goes for around 20k then.

i think kodak camara is very poor quality and there is no service centre in Delhi and not help centres. Sony camara is good. Sony has a help centre and call centre service in Delhi i think it is good . i am thinking to go to consumer court for poor quality and no service after sale.

The v803 with outdated features should not be priced for around INR rs.5000.00 only and not 11.999/-

NEVER NEVER Buy Kodak NI-MH Battery Charger. As in my case it mulfunctioned after a single use only. Also, they do not contain any warrenty / Garrenty etc, neither it can be repaired. I tried hard to contact the company for feedback, complain, information but no use. Its site contain no option to send user information. If anybody from Kodak listening contact me at toskdas@rediffmail.com or email2sd@gmail.com or 09435809565 or 03787273669.

While a good attempt- I shall suggest to the reviewer to pay particular attention to the VIDEO MODE of a digicam. Now that video modes in digicams are almost as good as in Camcorder (at least my S3IS does this) & most buyers use the video mode to take family movies- this feature should be given a separate column. In case of Kodak V803 ?to my mind it has too many minuses. To enumerate. 1. It is Kodak- means service will be sparse-only Canon & Sony have service points for digicams all over India- even Nikon is totally lacking in this department. 2. Proprietary battery with only 180 shot capacity- too small- similar W-80 takes 320 shots. 3.Over priced at 14999?when far better cams like Sony W-100 are 15k & of course the best cam in this cat Canon Ixus 900T- is only 15.5k. Kodak is flogging this EasyShare V803 in India for 15k- whereas in an open mkt like USA- these are in range of US $ 170- i.e about Rs. 7800. Incidentally Video Mode in This digicam is reported to barely passable.
