The Kodak EasyShare M1093 IS promises a opint-and-shoot like no other. Here's out take on it.
Design
Sleek as it may be, the M1093 cannot be mistaken to be feminine in any way. It comes in a sturdy matte black shell and sports a minimalistic look.
The back of the camera features a 3-inch (230k pixels) LCD screen. The controls are placed to the right of the screen and include a flat squarish zoom rocker, joystick and 4 small buttons that allow you to fiddle around some more.
What I liked here was the placement of the buttons, the responsive joystick and the overall ease of use. The flat zoom rocker didn't go down well with me though. It doesn't offer much grip and stepped zooming makes it even worse. The LCD too isn't as crisp and clear as you'd find on some other cameras, and gets washed out in bright sunlight.
To keep the back clutter-free, the flash and mode select buttons have been placed on the top, next to the shutter release switch. Overall, the build quality is excellent. The M1093 IS has both style and sturdiness.
