Memory cards are used just about everywhere today, from phones to digital cameras, photo printers to gaming consoles, you name it. But to use (and manipulate) their contents, there's no place like your computer. But computers generally don't come with facility of being able to read memory cards, and that's where the memory card reader comes in. The Kingston Media Reader FCR-HS219/1 is one such device.

The name Kingston evokes memories along the lines of "reliable computer RAM": the company has been a veteran in that field, providing memory products for over 25 years. It is but natural for us to have high expectations of such a product from them.

According to Kingston, this device is only able to use one card slot at a time... I haven't tried it yet, so I don't know if it's true. They also say that it will not work with Linux, something I suspect is untrue. One thing that is missing from this reader that seems to be a common feature on others is the ability to use XD cards, commonly found on Olympus and Fuji cameras, and it's earlier varient, SmartMedia cards.
