KODAK V570 Digital Camera

KODAK V570 Digital Camera

Sudeep Naik, Nov 01, 2006 1700 hrs IST

The Kodak EasyShare V570 is a compact-sized digital camera offering a resolution of 5 Megapixels. Let's have detailed clicks at it.

Dual-lens, Compact, Lightweight, Good image quality, Great color-reproduction and skin tones, Good low-light performance, Good video recording, 32 MB internal memory.

Soft Images, Images give impression of a 4-megapixel model, Not a true 23- 117 mm camera, Shoddy digital zoom for UW lens, Red-eye reduction systems fail most times, Dock-usage obligatory for charging/connecting to TV/Comp.

One cannot ignore the fact that you will need to use the dock whether you want to charge the camera or connect it to a TV/Comp. Although, it may sound pretty harmless, it can get quite irritating after a while. A simple USB cable connector would have done the trick and as it is, it already has a port for the charger (availability of the charger is questionable as well.)

Battery Life

The V570 camera uses the Kodak Rechargeable KLIC-7001 Lithium-Ion Battery that lasts for around 130 shots with minimal reviewing and fiddling around with options while it gave us around 105-110 shots. Knowing that Kodak cameras have always been power hungry, I suggest you get an extra battery as well.

Conclusion

The Kodak EasyShare V570 Dual Lens Digital Camera is available for Rs. 15,500 with a one-year warranty. The 5 megapixel Kodak Easyshare V570 is a very stylish and a unique one; thanks to dual lens system and fitting all this in a metal body just 2cms is just the icing on the cake. Now, I must congratulate Kodak for making this one-of-a-kind camera but, it has some imperfections that can be very easily rectified.

Let me also add, the imperfections that I have talked about will affect the more serious photographer. The average click-at-sight group of consumers can still get a lot more off this piece. Overall, a fun camera for the average user.

I am having a kodak easy share digital camera. after two year the camera become dead. I find Kodak digital camera is absolutely useless and you will not get any spare parts also. According to me DO NOT PURCHASE KODAK DIGITAL CAMERA. THEY CAN ONLY SELL CAMERA FILM.

TRY canon a540 , one of the few products, which scores high on both, value for money and performance. (and the 5mp version is a530, which sells for 3k less, and doesn't have shutter/aperature priority mode, and a 1.8 inch screen)

While Kodak does produce some good digicams like the Z740-The reviewed V-530 is not the best Kodak Digicam and has in fact been replaced now with V-710 & V610 models in Kodak lineup. The 5-mega-pixel sensor used in the Kodak V570 produces noisy images at the slowest ISO speeds of 64 and 100, and noisier and blurred images at ISO 200 and 400. With no optical image stabilization system, this makes the V570 something of an outdoors, good-light only camera. The 5 mega pixel images are quite soft straight out of the camera at the default sharpening setting and ideally require some further sharpening in an application like Photoshop. I think the 3.5 stars must have been given by Sudeep only because of novelty value of V-530-in having 2 lenses-& Two 5 MP sensors. Practical value of this cam for a serious photographer is nil.

this camera(not the face) shares an uncanny resemblance with the old nintendo handhelds of the late 80's and early 90's....pre gameboy era.

We have found that Kodak Camera are a a bit of failures compared to other brands...eg LS443 (25K) and other models which we have seen them failing beyound repairs..one should be careful...and at a go you loose your investments.

Both charging (the charger connects directly) and connecting to a PC (via a very small USB adaptor) can be done without using the dock.
