First of all, I don't think you've used an Iomega product in your life. Second, Asking the reviewer whether he has used ceedo does not make you a better reviewer. Have you used Retrospect?Third, show me a buffalo HDD. What you are talking about is for buffalo flash drives. Fourth, if you look at the HD tach scores, you can see that the avg read speed is 31-32 mbps. This means that the casing is of good quality. Many casings give between 25-30 Mbps speeds if you're lucky. Moreover the casing is far better looking and sturdy than the plastic WD and seagate(worst looking) casings. Lastly, look at the price again. It's 11K for the 250GB version.

Ramesh, First of all, it doesnt take a guy's 1% of his brain with basic pricing knowledge to figure out that 160gb for 11k is a joke....in any case-irrespective of which company's external drive it is. You get 500gb seagate pro freeagent for 6k, why on earth will anyone go for this company which seems to be having a reputation as same as an iball. Third, in countries like India, after sales support and value for money does make a big difference, which some indian reviewers lack to comment on-which gives me an upper hand from these user reviews. I rather pick up a buffalo/Western digital/seagate anyday. When people buy a hard drive they see these things-after sales, warranty, does is heat during load, transfer speed, length of the cable, bundled software and the reliability of the hard drive. External hard drives arent made to be displayed at fashion shows, they are meant to be as light as possible and small enough to occupy less amount of space.

Please do not jump to responding without reading what I've written. 11k is for 250GB and not 160GB. I agree that the pricing is atrocious but you keep making the mistake of saying 11k is for 160GB. Iomega is not iBall. It is an unfair..no wait a non-comparison. Iomega products are really good but quite pricey. You have a point on good after sales and other features that a user would want, but when you say that drives are meant to be light and small, any factory made external 2.5 inch drive does not come close to a laptop drive put inside a cheap casing. Such a config has the smallest footprint. But, to be safe, a little bulk definitely helps for protection., And I'm sure the Iomega offers much better protection than WD..and seagate...it's a cheap plastic casing with an ugly slant(for no reason) and bright irritating light. It's bulky without offering any protection.

To add, visually I can tell that the cable is of high quality. I don't think either WD or Seagate provide such a good cable. But, I have no idea on how good Iomega's warranty is.
