Finally, a penryn for budget conscious gamers.
When Intel first released its flagship processor (QX9650) back in November 2007, we witnessed the first entry into the 45nm domain. This brought a host of features and improvements to an already popular Core 2 Micro architecture.
Looking at the current market we have Intel's dual cores E8xxx series, which are being sold in the range of 8K and 10K. While these are very popular and give excellent value, they are still priced on the higher side. While we still have the E4xxx series for the budget conscious user, if you wanted to get into the 45nm arena, you had to start-off with one of the E8xxx processors.
Intel noticed this gap and decided to release a group called the E7xxx line of processors that would cater to users on a budget. Of course some features would have to be cut down due to the positioning in Intel's lineup but still we would get a 45nm processor with all the benefits.

Oh yeah....the cons "Not a very good overclocker. " and from the final words "With this you get lower operating voltages, which translates into lower power consumption, lower heat output and make it highly overclockable thanks to it's 9.5 multiplier" is contradicting....

Honestly its a great overclocker. Techtree needs to research a lot. I wonder which chip they compared to that they made this conclusion???? e8400??? or an amd counterpart.

Smarty boy, low res game tests are conducted to test graphic capabilities of the CPU and Mobo's gfx system. If u raise the resolution to the ones u use "these days", the graphic card starts to actively render the stuff thus taking load off the CPU. That beats the purpose of the test. And since u are not a fool, u are expected to know this.

Rohan, Before making such a harsh comment, please check your own knowledge. Otherwise you'd look like a fool yourself.

"Not a very good overclocker. " I didn't read further.. didn't need to.. unless Intel is dumping garbage in the Indian market or in the reviewer's PC

Please don't spread lame remarks like Not a Good Overclocker. These babies are said to overclock upto 4.2GHz without any problems. Even if you did get a stubborn batch, they should be able to Overclock with higher volts. The problem is the juice, which you are not giving it at all. Meh...
