There's a host of terabyte hard drives in the market and they are therefore no longer a subject of awe. Manufacturers are always compelled to offer new features to better their competitors.

Energy consumption is a sore issue today and we see most companies offering "green" products that claim to consume less power, thus saving precious electricity and money.

Hitachi, which was the first to bring out a terabyte hard drive, has also brought out another iteration of the same drive, which claims to be a lot more energy-efficient. We take a look at the Hitachi Deskstar E7K1000 HDE721010SLA in this review.

Vertict says "...since there are options available that are a lot better in almost every aspect". Then why 4-STAR rating!!?

One star in the rating is reserved for the price and this drive lost one whole star there, but elsewhere it is a good drive and therefore doesn't lose any of the other four stars.

it also says... "We therefore cannot recommend this drive..."
