No one can deny the fact that HP is way ahead of its competitors when it comes to releasing new printers and MFDs on a monthly basis.
LCD screen, Excellent color saturation, Good speeds
Flimsy output tray, Low sharpness
Performance
The printer can take in 150 sheets of plain paper in the input tray, but send out only 50 in the output tray, which I found to be too flimsy. The MFD claims to print at an optimized resolution of 4800 dpi. We ran our standard tests at the highest print quality setting on HP Photo Glossy paper. The following are the tests and their results:
Font Test: The font test consisted of printing a document containing various fonts starting from point size 24 going all the way down to point size 1.
Result: This test was the most impressive of the lot giving accurate details right down to the last line. Text at the smallest font was visible to the naked eye, but on scanning the image, we found smudges on text with the highest font. Sharpness was present, but you can spot smudges at certain places.
Black and White Resolution Test (150 dpi): We printed an EIA Resolution chart (1956), containing high-contrast vertical, horizontal and diagonal lines as well as curves of various sizes.
Result: Here again, there was smudges along the thin and thick lines, which didn't do any good to the overall sharpness. One could easily spot what could be termed Ghosting (normally used for monitors) for the thick lines. Concentric circles were again filled with smudges and blur.
Time Taken: 3 Minutes 55 seconds
Color Test (600 dpi): We printed a sheet with gradients of RGB and CMYK bands, which start from the darkest shade to the lightest, eventually fading to white.
Result: What impressed me was the color reproduction and overall saturation. There was a clear difference in comparison to the earlier MFDs that we have reviewed. This one stood first in this test with almost pure red and magenta being shown. Black was not too striking and had a dull tinge right from the beginning. Fading from the highest to lowest of RGB and CMYK colors was very visible here.
Time Taken: 5 Minutes 02 seconds
Border Test (300 dpi): This document contained lines stretching out all the way to the edge of the document, to test the printer's borderless printing capabilities.
Result: This test gave a very confusing result with the alignment of vertical lines almost perfect, while horizontal lines were way off target. The same result was noticed in other prints with horizontal lines from below not meeting the required mark. Overall, this MFD did not support full borderless printing.
Time Taken: 3 Minutes 21 sec

Hi, I had to format my laptop hard disk. Later when I tried to install the printer the computer asked for advanced version of the driver CD. I continued as install anyhow. The installation was done but the printer screen shown error: 0xc0620001, hll;lib_miccizc. Switched off the printer and put it on again but the printer screen stops at hp invent screen itself. While HP is great with my experiance i feel epson is better when it comes to imaging and dats why you will see most of the photographers will allways buy epson also its cartridges are more value for money all in all a buy a epson printer a year since 9 years and i think its amazing and with thier service and onsite support improving i think they are comming up fast

We have been using thsi printer since 6 months, its not a wonder at all, its installation is very slow, huge software is loaded in pretext of drivers, there are so many complex printing options that even techy people will find it very difficult to configure and operate. In default printing modes it give very slow prints, and tweakign with option sis very cumbersome, We also observed that sometimes it work fast , sometiems slow. first tiem when we bought it the printer failed on installation and had to be replaced. In USA and other countries I observed that its 2610 is available and 2608 is not. I am not sure why HP launched 2608 in India whereas 2610 internationally. you should ahve a printer expert in your company to be able to easily use this printer. Integrated ethernet was the only reason we took it but our old HP 4110 MFD work much better then this.

Issue 1, answer: The software drivers are budled with customised software which is very easy to use and also make layman comfortabel for printing a variety of print out eg: image zone.director,instant share issue 2, answer: for slow printing you have to clear the print cues after evry bulk print job, if u do not know buuzz me on this forum Issue 3: installation fails, no info given to answer Issue 4: even a layman or a kid can use the basic feature, i do not know spaecifically what r u talking about Please specify a problem to give answers, vague questions and complaints will not help

I tried 2-sided printing using staroffice on my laptop and it said that the module necessary for 2-sided printing is not installed on the printer. it printed the entire document in 1-sided, what a waste. do others also experience the same problem? can somebody from HP answer?

For two sided printing you need a duplexer, which is attached at the rear of the the Printer, or you can do it manually by printing one side at one time. The duplexer is an accessory and has to be purchased to do this.

infact people r not rating the product properly, I am myself a hp technician. And there is no one actually comeup or born to compete this product(psc 2608) of hp(ofcourse dont compare hp foritself) when u compare the older 2410 aio, this product is 10000 times better. 1. better software 2. copying and scanning 200 times better than any other product/brand when u talk about the same product range 3. no comparison to hp printing technology 4. now the fax part of the machine is more advanced- gives users to fax at 2 different fax speeds according to the line conditions(set at highest at default status) 4. can download the images directly and osem photoediting software, which no one has ever got- a competetor yet not born 5. u have option of printing photoink cartridge too in this for printing professional photos and thers lot to tell..........

yes,Hp has got printers of the A3 size as wellthey are very unpopular india, because they use a inkjet printing technology which is all the more expensive than the normal inkjet printing technology. But still if would plan for it, you can either go for the officejet 7110,7130/xi,d145 along with the addition paper tray which actually fits on the bottom of the printer for the legal sized paper(A3)
