It's been almost a year since we reviewed a tablet PC. We have now managed to lay our hands on one from the HP stable. Being from the Pavilion series the laptop is more the power laptop than the one for the casual user. The laptop comes with VISTA Home Premium preloaded which gives it a great appeal. But can it really tackle VISTA and smoothly sway through the twists and turns that a user would demand from it.

TX1301AU is good but its battery SUCKS. It comes with 4-cell battery which lasts only 1 hr 30 min on full charge and on low power consumption setting. So, consider 6-cell battery while buying this. Also there is no support provided by HP on its accessories as of yet.
i bought on of these in july.
10 days later the screen broke after it fell from a height of 2 feet.
apparently they dont provide individual spare parts.i have to buy a finger print reader,an lcd monitor a touch pad and camera assembly to replace a plastic display panal.
cost of laptop 53,000+ tax
cost of repair 46,000.
why cant they just sell the panal glass?

Would you please let me know your user experience with this laptop : speed of accessing applications , internet , managing multiple applications etc ? Any major issues?
its battery is a nuisance. it get too much hot totally unbearable to put it on your lap. you have to use it more or less like a desktop.

I recently purchased this Convertablet (which I like to call it) fully customized off the HP Website. Suffice to say it offers a hell of a bang for the buck. But it really shouldn't be viewed as a TABLET PC but more like an Ultraportable with Tablet capabilities. Best of both worlds. I'm very satisfied. Comparable to a Thinkpad T60 Widescreen Tablet but for 800-900$ less.
